Shelley M. Black leads marketing and consumer innovation and customer experience from the perspective of a senior professional with more than 25 years of experience on the client side, primarily in the financial services and publishing sectors, as a Marketing and Communications Consultant. She enjoys working with clients to enrich and release creativity and innovation in teams for business growth.
An award-winning editor of the highest-circulation fashion and beauty magazine in Canada, FLARE, her publishing experience includes heading up marketing and communications at Maclean’s magazine.
Most recently, she worked with global brands as a senior consultant with Synecticsworld, a Boston-based pioneer in innovation and creative collaboration. Before joining Synecticsworld, she was at BMO Financial Group, where she was responsible for all employee communications and strategic communications such as the globally recognized annual report and corporate responsibility report, corporate donations and the corporate information web sites.
Her volunteer work includes: past chair of the board of Theatre Passe Muraille, BOD Koffler Centre of the Arts and FAST, an organization dedicated to educating middle school and high school children about antisemitism and racism.
